6 - Post-Doctoral Position in Whole-Genome Sequencing data analysis

logo genmedApplications are invited for two post-doctoral research scientists to work on the development and applications of bioinformatics tools for Next-Generation Sequencing data within the GENMED academic research group. GENMED, jointly coordinated by Jean-François Deleuze and François Cambien, is one of the newly funded laureates of the national call for research centres of excellence and is fully dedicated to enhance personalized medical genomics at the National level. The posts are funded for 18 months in the first instance.

We are looking to employ post-doctoral research scientists to join our bioinformatics core group to analyze whole exome and whole-genome sequencing data of ~100 families affected by rare genetic disorders for which the application of whole-exome sequencing remained unsuccessful. The applicant's mission goes beyond the identification of mutations causing rare human disease and could include the development of bioinformatics and analytical strategies to enhance the detection of variants in the context of whole genome sequencing.

Candidates for the positions should have a PhD degree in computer science, bioinformatics or statistical genetics. Prior experience in the analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data is highly desirable and will be an advantage. French language is not compulsory

The selected candidates will work under the supervision of Dr David-Alexandre Trégouët at one of the GENMED partner laboratories in Paris or Evry.

Formal applications should be sent to Dr David-Alexandre Trégouët (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and Jean-François Deleuze (This email address is being protected from spambots.
