Fondation Jean Dausset – CEPH (Paris) is involved in large research projects (in particular the LABEX GENMED, in order to study causes of complex diseases using high throughput technologies generating large volumes of data

 

 Job​ ​description:​ immunotherapies came to light in recent years with different successes of treatments against cancer (anti-PD1 et anti-CTLA4 for some forms of melanomas and lung cancers, anti-PD1 against some forms of metastatic colorectal cancers in particular). These different successes are however counter-balanced with a relatively high percentage of non responding treated patients indicating that a more refined stratification for patients to treat could be beneficial for non responding patients. In order to do so, different features associated to treatment response have been reported in the litterature (mutational load, neoepitopic load, the degree of aneuploïdy, etc.). The combination of these different features seems to better predict the response treatment than one feature taken alone. In order to improve the stratification of these patients, we are developing a tool integrating all these different components in order to propose a more refined stratification of patients eligible for immunotherapies. We are thus proposing, in this context, a 2 year GENMED postdoctoral position to contribute to the development of this tool for publication purpose. The recruited person will also participate into the analysis / interpretation of results of ongoing projects for publication purpose.

 

Required​ ​diploma:​ MSc / PhD in Bioinformatics (preferentially) or related field

 

Profile of​ ​the​ ​candidate:

You published at​ ​least​ ​2​ ​articles​ ​as​ ​a​ ​first​ ​/​ ​last​ ​author​ in international peer-reviewed scientific journals within the last 5 years. Besides you have the following skills:

● proficient​ ​with​ ​Unix/Linux​ ​environment

● some basic knowledge of biology and genetics

● demonstrated skills in writing scientific articles

● highly​ ​proficient​ ​in​ ​at​ ​least​ ​one​ ​programming​ ​language​ (perl, R, python, java, c, c++ ...)

● proficient in algorithmics and distributed programming

● good knowledge of standard bioinformatics methods and softwares

● solid knowledge in statistics

● good communication skills

● Autonomous,​ ​rigorous,​ ​you enjoy​ ​learning​ and like​ ​challenges

● knowledge in relational databases The following skills are good to have for this position:

● experience with non relational databases

● proficiency with deep learning

● proficiency with GPU programming
